'>First question - does your wife not like it

LOL, no, that's not the problem. IF she ever tasted it, I'm positive she'd love it. But she has this mental block that makes her refuse to even TRY it. As I said before, to date, she'll only 'try' venison if it is masked somehow (ground up for chilli, etc.) but steaks, chops, or roasts (if I had a roast left) she will not allow in her mouth.'

Ray: I guess I will then not be able to provide much help (not trained in that field). It appears that it is not the taste nor the fact that it is venison (if disguised). I assume that when she sees a ven. steak, she thinks of a deer?? Not sure if there is an inexpensive cure. Good luck (and I say that with the hope that you can get her to taste it and that it works).

I know one of my favorite things is to have the neck meat slow cooked in the same manner that one would cook a BBQ brisket of beef. The meat can then be served over hamburger buns ala BBQ brisket sandwiches. Actually, same goes for large pieces that are often cooked as roasts (rump hams) or ground into hamburger (shoulders).

A plus side to this is that a chunk of neck meat will look very much like any other brisket type meat you get from the grocery store. Therefore, it might be possible to fool her into eating it...

In the 39 yrs I have known my wife, she has never tasted venison either. It was the same with pheasant, quail, and dove. And, she will not let any game in the house until in looks like packaged meats, and she still will not eat it. She dislikes the idea of hunting, and will not eat any game. And I knew that when I married her ..... we have worked around it.....
