This weekend, while combing through our local want-ads, I ran across an ad for a Win. M70 XTR in .30-06. Does any one know what the XTR designation means, and when Winchester used it? I'm trying to figure out if the gun is the mauser-type claw feed action or if it's push feed.

Hi, I have a Winchester M70 XTR in 7mm Rem Mag. The XTR is a designator for the finish. It has a blued barrel and receiver and a walnut stock - not synthetic. Maybe a grade above the plain 'field grade'. Mine is the push feed.
