I have a shotgun I just retrieved from PA back to CO. I gave it to my brother when I left in '74 and he never used it so I brought it back. It's a Marlin 55 12-guage bolt.
I must have trimmed the stock because it was too long. Now the recoil pad sticks out beyond the stock. How do I trim it to match the end of the stock? Or is this best left to gunsmiths and what does it cost?
Good place in Denver area to get this done?
I have a Mosberg pump I need to do the same thing to because the stock is, again, too long for me.
Thanks,

Wrap the stock with masking tape, and use a belt sander. The tape prevents you from scratching the wood. Or contact the gun smithing school in lakewood they often are looking for projects for their students. Doug Miller

Thanks, I have found the gunsmith school in Lakewood and was thinking of taking it there.
