I haven't been following deer closely. What is CWD? I'm planing to hunt this year and have started to get my gear ready and start scouting. I'm in southwest Ohio, any problems here?

Thanks

Maybe Texas doesn't have it but New Mexico (next door neighbor) does have a case of CWD.

True, about 50 mi. from the Tex. border. And, there were no known 'transplanted' animals within many miles of the discovery.

Possibly one of the reasons it has not yet been reported in Tex. is that Tex. does not test for it. With approximately 17,000 elk and something less than 20,000 deer having been imported, it would logically seem that it could be present in Tex., just not documented.

Those states/Provinves with documented cases appear to be: Col., Mont., Wyo., NM, Nebr., SD, Wis., Oak., Kansas and Saskatchewan.
