Hi, I'm going to move to Ireland next year (2004) and I'd like to start hunting in the Dublin area next summer. I have no contacts so far and would like to know, If anybody can tell me what kind of hunting association there are and which one I should contact first.

Thanks for all comments in advance!

Regards, Christian

Hi Christian,

Shooting in Ireland is either Deer (Sika,Red,Fallow) or Rough Shooting (Pheasants,Wildfowl,Rabbits etc..).

Deer stalking is normally on state lands by paying for a lease.

Rough shooting is mainly through Gun Clubs who are all members of the NARGC (National Association of Regional Game Councils) www.nargc.ie

If you contact me off-list via my email I may be able to assist you further as I'm a gun club member near Dublin.

regards,
