My wife and I took the course for concealed carry in Colorado. The last part is the shooting part. Our instructor cannot find a range. He says the ranges think he competes with them and there are not that many ranges.

We need to shoot max 15 yds to finish.

We have a place to shoot but that is west of Fairplay and is almost 2 hrs drive.

Is there a range where we can go or does anyone know of an area in the NF? I remember seeing some people shooting north of Blackhawk in the NF and I remember a safe range somewhere near Pine, but I have not visited them for many years.

I went with my neighbor to a range north of Longmont a few years back, but that seemed mostly rifle and skeet/trap.

We only need about 30 minutes or so. We don't mind paying the range fees or doing our own thing on NFS land.

Thanks in advance,

I've heard that folks shoot somewhere up Lefthand Canyon west of Boulder. I've shot at Cherry Creek State Park range; there's a couple of indoor ranges in Lakewood; Dept. of Wildlife has an indoor range over on 58th and I-25 - don't know if it's open to the public. There's a range west of Hot Sulphur Springs, but that's a couple of hours drive. Greg
