I had a 99e for a few years. My son got his 1st deer with it. It was very accurate although a little heavy. It had one problem, though. I could only get a max of 3 reloads out of a case before it started to separate about 1/2 inch in front of the rim. I had the head space checked and several other reloaders looked at it but I never found out what was causing the problem.

Highly regarded but production stopped in 1998 apparently due to high production costs. One year shy of its centennial and they dropped it. I think they were nuts. Should have made it for one more year, put centennial engraving on it and announced it was the last year of production and sold them for $1000-$1500. One of the few lever actions which can safely shoot 'pointed' rounds like .308 (Browning being another).
