This past season, all the deer I saw were running and about two to three hundred yards away. I like standing shots or shots at running game at close range (60 yards or less). What I want to know is how do you shoot at long range running game (where do you hold), or don't you?

you?
I don't shoot. Incidentally, 'long range' for a running deer is anything over 75 yards...

The answer is plain and simple. You NEVER shoot at running game, coyotes being the only exception I'd make.
Take a moment to think about why I say this.
Happy responsible and smart hunting!

What makes you think that coyotes deserve any less respect than deer? ANY animal deserves only the best killing shot that you can make and that wouldn't necessarily be a running one.
When you hunt rabbits do you wait until you catch them sitting?
I did and my question is the NEVER part. If a deer has been mortally wounded and is running away, you wouldn't (remember NEVER) take a running shot?
You too!
