All, I have just acquired a Rossi 12 ga. side-by-side dbl-brl shotgun 'The Overland' It has a 18 inch barrels. 1. Being close to 10 inches shorter than a typical shot gun, would this be a useful pheasant / bird gun? 2. What about clay shooting?

It looks like Rossi stopped manufacturing the Overland in the 80's and doesnt offer double barrel shotguns any more. Any info as to what this gun or one with short barrels was typically intended for would be appreciated.

Thanks,
