On factory loads, a LOT CHEAPER for the military stuff, can be found for 4 dollars a box of 20, the 22-250 loads, may cost 15 to 18 dollars for 20.

If you reload, your break is in the brass cost, once fired military stuff can be had for less than 50 dollars a thousand, you won't find any once fired 22-250 brass, so you are looking at 18 dollars a 100 for it.

Once you have the brass, reloading the two, it is only a penny or two of extra powder for the 22-250 in each case, bullet and primer cost are the same.

If all your shots are under 250 yds the 223 will kill anything you shoot at with it, if you want to make the extra long shots then the 22-250 is the way to go, although when I varmit hunt at exstended range I switch to the 243, with the new light bullets available for the 6 mm, you can get close to the flat shooting 22-250 speeds with a heavier bullet
