I am the original poster of the Part I thread and had to get to the point of my original thread. It is about the attitude of elitism that some hunters have. Here is a sample of what we are dealing with in Kansas. This was taken from bowsite.com Kansas conferences this morning and shows the problems with how the bowhunters see rifles and muzzelloader hunters. This is in their own words. Rifle hunters have already destroyed the deer herd.

'From: ron Date: 18-Jul-02

I think your right on that buck. Four years ago I saw the monster bucks out west and managed to get a couple of book deer but in the last couple of years all we are seeing are yearling deer. If you take any area TX.,LA.and you have restriced hunting you well get mature deer.

As soon as you turn the hunter loose it don't take long to wipe them out with rifles in KS. and that I feel has happened. I think the black powder season in Sept. was one of the dumbs things they have ever came up with.

If you have a ranch out west which has never been hunted you might see some of these bucks, but who has $5000 dollars to hunt them? RON '

All the other hunters are the problem as you can see, not me and not my way. This quote is NOT taken out of context either, the name of the Thread was 'Still Too Many Tags'. I think ALL rifle hunters NATIONWIDE and Muzzelloader hunters NATIONWIDE, need to start monitoring this site within their state conferences and compare the actions taken by YOUR State Big Game Program and the opinions and pressure exercised by the bowhunting community. Compare the state public meeting minutes and the commissioners voting record. I guarntee it will be illuminating.

Is this the fault of the bowhunting community?? Absouletly NOT. That is their right, but the State agency is to be objective and dsipassionate and not beholden to one viewpoint or group pressure.

THE PURPOSE OF THIS IS NOT TO DIS ANY HUNTERS. THE PURPOSE IS TO GET RIFLE HUNTERS ENGAGED AND ENERGISED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE GAME LAW ISSUES IN THEIR STATE WITH AS MUCH ZEAL AS THE 2ND AMENDMENT ISSUE. GO TO THE PUBLIC MEETINGS. TAKE A FRIEND ALONG. WE MUST ARISE!!!

Excellent point...one that many a hunter will ignore. I hear about the demise of the bob-white quail, yet I find lots of birds when I hunt. People will not admit that their dog can't find the bird or that the area they have hunted for 20 years would not hold birds if they were there. For cryin out loud...find a new place to hunt. Hunt your spot once every two years.

Deer are all over the place. How can anyone say a herd has been wiped out? BS. Nevada's deer suffered this winter and the herds are smaller because of it and we issued about 1/3 the number of tags as we usually do. Yet there are deer in the woods. I see them when I go for walks.

Bow hunters can't find them...cuz they don't look...they wait.

BTW...I also bow hunt.
