Make sure you have the license before you leave. Produce it at the border and that presents your reasonable excuse for having a gun in the USA. Don't speed on the way and you will likely never have to give another explanation about your guns. A 300 for Antelope? Borrow a .270 that way you won't collect any more Antelope than you have tags, and prevent the subsequent lose of your gun for poaching the extra three antelope you would have killed with the 300. If you do use your .300 tame down the bullet size. If you can get a lighter bullet it would be better. I use 130 grn bullets and they are plenty for any antelope. Antelope are not that big. Your target zone estimate is about right. A little smaller than a regular deer. Actually, I assume you are in BC. It would be like chasing a Black tail. The meat issue. Do not run the Antelope before you shoot them. Preferably sneak up on your buck catch him sleeping and shoot him in his bed. The Antelope I have taken have tasted great. Other people who have run their antelope before they have killed them end up with meat that tastes like a crap and has the texture of a rock. Antelope hunting in Wyoming can be great fun. Friends have gone down on their own, no guide, and even the less skilled folks came back with Antelope. You will more likely than not have to stop yourself from shooting at Antelope until the large one you want appears. No idea on guides. That's up to you. Good luck if you go.

<snip> of good information
I've bow hunted area 23 three times with a fellow named Don Hockett. He has 40,000 acres of ground that he has leased for hunting. You can pretty well count on a 75 to 80 B & C antelope as they do controlled kill on the property. The area is an easy draw as it is 87% private. In other words, if you don't pay or know someone you don't hunt.
Don lives in Gillette and his phone number is 1-307-682-4394.
Good luck, eh.

I agree with most of what you say, everything except the part about being easy to kill, if the shot is not perfect they are the toughest little critters to kill, if you wound one and don't finish them off in the next few minutes they will be up and going again as if nothing happened. They can still run 50 gut shot so make your shots carefully

You won't have near as much trouble as a US type entering your country with a firearm! Crossing state lines will be virtually unnoticeable unless you look for signs.
I've had the good fortune to take a couple of antelope and can tell you that, if properly cared for, the meat is excellent
