I am writing this at a time of great pain. My brother in law , my friend, was killed in a hunting accident some time between Saturday morning and Sunday morning. I don't know many details yet ,but what I do know is he was shot in the chest and died instantly. He was out on privet land deer hunting with his brother in central Wisconsin, he never came in Saturday night, his body was found Sunday morning by the police. As of now pending an investigation , he was hit by a stray bullet. I am a hunter and will continue to hunt but, I'm begging ALL of you, PLEASE know what you are shooting at, and be careful! I pray no one else goes through what myself , my wife, and my in-laws are going through.

My heart goes out to you in this time of great sorrow and anguish. Thank you for sharing this tragic story with the group, and I hope it serves as a reminder to us all to make sure of what we are shooting at. I can't stress enough that we must all practice good hunting habits. I recently watched in horror as a hunting partner of mine (this was our first and last time hunting together) fired off four wild rounds of a 30.06 at a running buck, all missed of course. He showed no concern for where his bullets ended up and his only regret was that he didn't get to fire off more!! So please - I know we have heard it all before - THINK BEFORE YOU SHOOT.
