Trying to come up with the phrase for: a hollow, where many deer may congregate during the winter, to escape the wind, etc.

Must be old age, I guess.

Can anyone suggest what phrase I am thinking of, but cannot seem to come up?

Thanks,

Yard, as in deer yard or as in the deer a yarding up.

I've heard it called 'yarding up'. Bill Van Houten (USA Ret) 'No matter how hard you try, you can't throw a potato chip very far.'
