Non-residents will do well to save postage because unless you are hunting a doe damage county, like Chester County, they are impossible to get. I plan to pass on Pa for at least this year until the major changes they made settle down.

They are issuing 922,600 doe licenses. There will be plenty. The problem will be where to hunt as many residents will post their land to keep out the hoards. There are at least 17 counties with over 20,000 licenses. Gary Alt wants to lower the herd and needs the non-residents to do it as the residents can only eat so many deer. If you eat two deer a year why would you want three.

For the price of two postage stamps, I'd give it a try. This year they are issuing more permits than there are hunters!

In that case, I might reconsider. It will be very frustrating to spend a week in bow camp with only a 6 point buck permit. None of us got doe licenses last year including the owner of the 40 acre camp. Pa should look at Delaware. You get 2 doe licenses with license and can buy for $10 tags good for a buck and a 'quality buck'. For $10 each you can buy all the extra doe tags you want. No extra tag fees for non-residents and no waiting 2 weeks for residents to deplete. These extra tags have been available for several years and herd continues to grow. Problem of course is finding places to hunt.
