Help, I'm turning to you experts with the hope that you can offer me some guidance.

My boyfriend wants to get started in hunting. We need some very basic info on purchasing stands, scopes, blinds and gun tripods.

I mean very very basic...

What they are, why you use them, what features are found on a basic model, vs. on a more 'suped up' model. Real basic stuff.

Is there anything you'd need to know about them before you buy them (weight capacity for the stands? Right/left handedness?, that sort of thing)

Is there an online source, or even a book I might find at a library, that gives such rudimentary info?

I'm not looking for brand recommendations at this point, we're trying to figure out what we need to know just to get started.

I appreciate any help you can provide. I will check back here for answers, but email would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for you help.

Alot of this type of stuff is covered in a hunter safety class. Most states now have them, and some states require them to get a licence. The cost is usually very reasonable, it's where I'd start.

Take a hunter education class. I think this would be the best 'first step.'
