Which is the better caliber for hunting mulies and texas deer? Thanks.

Both should be fully adequate. I guess if you have to decide, I'd probably do it based on the distance you're shooting. The slightly bigger 7mm bullets pack a little more whop up close but the slightly lighter 6.5 mm bullets might shoot a little flatter. Neither difference should be particularly noticible but both should be there.

If you really need to shoot flatter than the 7mm-08 will, you need a long action cartridge or a magnum and if you need to hit harder than the .260 will, you really need a long action cartridge ('06 class) or magnum. Neither one is so heads and shoulders above the other that you can have one really be adequate and the other not ... in any catagory.
