Moving to Roanoke VA area

It looks like I'm going to be moving to the Roanoke VA area in the next few weeks. I have several questions that I thought you all could help me with:

1) Is there any good public hunting land close by and if so where is it? 2) Does anyone know of any club openings in the area? I'll be hunting deer, turkey, and some possibly some small game. 3)I noticed several gun shops around town including a target range Does anyone have an opinion on which is the best to deal with?

You will find some excellent opportunities in that area. Western VA has about 1.5 million (no typo) acres of natl forest. VA also has MANY wildlife mgmt areas spread thoughout the state.
