Talk about misinformed! More people killed by moose attacks than any other animal attacks in North America. Much more dangerous than Bear in turns of total killings. Very aggressive when confronted.

The most dangerous animal to man in North America is Bambi. Hooves through the windshield kills more people than anything else.

The mostly blind, nocturnal moose is hardly a major threat. Confront a moose? For what, back taxes? Why would you? Dream on . . .

As the moose is the only member of the deer family that can not stand on three legs. A .22 LR through the kneecap, a moose is down for good.

More dangerous than Brown / Kodiak / Grizzly? A joke. A moose is not dangerous game.

Moose attacks? Never heard of a single incident - - you may wish to cite your sources, if you can.

'Although Schroder does not recall a fatal moose attack ever happening in Carbon County, he said moose encounters are common. Anglers, hikers and campers frequently see moose in the Beartooth Mountains, especially near water, he

ENGG! WRONG! I guess you've never been around one when it's little ones are in the area. Last summer my wife and kids were charged by moma moose in Northern Minn. They got in the car and got out of there quick. No problem, but pretty exciting for the kids. Clyde

Not unless you get between it and its young. I can't really back this up, but I seem to remember a news article about a guy who had to spend some time up a tree due to an enraged moose. Also there have been incidents where hormonally disturbed animals entered populated areas and acted in a more or less threatening manner, but I can't recall anyone getting hurt by them.

I'd say the risk of a moose attack is probably well below the chance of getting hit by a meteorite, so can safely be ignored

Weeellllll..... I remember reading about a couple guys who did a little experiment with a moose that turned out badly, they wanted to know how a moose would react to classical music. They put a record player out and waited for the subject animal, which turned out to be a very large bull moose repete with tremendous antlers. When they switched on the music the moose charged and killed them both.

Perhaps it would have gone better with jazz or blues....

You might think it strange- but more moose are taken in Canada by the locals with .22 rim fire than any other round.

Yes, I do think that is 'strange'. Anything to back that up?

A guy at my work had a cow moose keep him up in his tree stand for a couple hours while bowhunting deer here in Utah. I was talking once to a longtime Wyoming horse packer and he said that he never had a problems with bears but his worse ever horse/packstring wreck was when a moose tried to take on the lead horse of his packstring.
