H i Group, I was wondering if I could tap the knowledge base out there, and get some opinions. I will be going Varmint hunting in June , and will be shooting Moly coated bullets. The bore will be preped with moly before shooting. Question, what is the proper way to clean after shooting say 100 rounds or so. The object being to get back in the action as fast as possible, and not damage the moly that has been deposited in the bore. Your experence and help would be greatly appreciated.

In response to cleaning I would be running a few patches with KROIL every twenty rounds for them there thar HighSpeed Varmint rounds followed by a dry patch. Going say 100 rounds will not be good for your barrel even with moly... Moly only makes it easier to keep clean and does not eliminate deposits in the barrel. Think about it each round leaves deposits behind and you cook and burnish those deposits with each successive round. 100 if way too many. My .17 remington gets no more than 20 rounds though it when using moly bullets. and 10 is pushing the envelope when using uncoated bullets. What effort does it take to run a few patches through the bore...
