The Model 70 XTR Featherweight .30-06 and Leupold 3.5x10x40 VariX III for $575. Excellent condition. Is this a good price?

The Leupold scope goes for about $300 new. The Rifle is about $600. $575 is pretty good. It may not be an investment but it is better than trying to buy this stuff new.

James, where do you buy your Leupolds? According to Ultimate Outdoors http://www.ultout.com/leupold&stevens-optics.htm - which runs prices about as low as anyone - a Vari-X III 3.5-10x40mm Duplex Gloss goes for $403.03.

As for the M70 according to Fjestad's Blue Book #23 the last MSRP for the XTR Featherweight was $562 and a 98% specimen is valued at $380. Any way you slice it $575 is a good price on this quality setup. Good hunting!
