Wow, can I give you insight.
I own the stupid thing ! That said, try this: 85 grain of shockys gold with the 240 gn TC XTP bullet. And you really got clean the crap out of it between shots, including the breech plug about every 4-5 shots. Ive tried every bullet and gn combo but this paticular one gets me 1.5 MOA at 100 yds.
Things to notice: Going up in grain drops the bullet once youve gone over 85 gn. This is because the powder doesnt have time to burn before the bullet leaves the barrel. It is further compunded by the fact you loose bullet travel distance within the barrel by throwing more powder in it. Also, be sure to let the barrel cool to room temp between shots; or colder obviously if its cold outside. When my barrel heats up, it expands allowing the projectile to become loose in the barrel throwing the bullets who knows where.
I have to say, this gun is a pain!!!
But, it will drive tacks if you follow those guidlines, and by all means if you find a better bullet / gn combo please let me know but 1.5 MOA is awsome for a smokepole.
