I'm placing this post here because it will NO DOUBT negitively affect hunting in our state not to mention jepordizing ALL firearms hunting in the state of Kansas.
I don't know if any one in Kansas realizes what happened yesterday when our dear Gov. Kathleen Sebilus appointed our new state game commissioners. 3 New commissioners were appointed and 2 of them are really bad news. New appointees are Kelly Johnston, Doug Sebilus and Shari Wilson.
For me this was a given - Doug Sebilus is a lawyer from Norton Kansas and is related to the Gov. - go figure.

I shared this with my wife when it was posted. She used Kelly Johnston for some legal work a couple of years ago. As a result I've been in his office a couple of times. He is pro hunter as far as I can tell, but very much anti gun, and anti second ammendment. I'm not sure how he justifies those positions. I may just try to get him to lunch some time to talk about these issues. Could make for an interesting lunch.

David just do a search on the Wichita Eagle website and 117 articles will come up in relation to Mr. Johnston, most are not flattering, and NONE show any qualification to be a Commissioner of WPD. I am sure he is a good man, and a good att'y, however those are not the reasons he should be appointed to the commission.
From the Capital Journal:
'Automobiles are like rifles or shot guns,' Johnston said. 'They have a purpose. The only purpose of a hand gun is to kill people.'
As far as I rember the current hunting Regs allow handguns to hunt.
I have no qualms against Mr. Johnston, I have BIG PROBLEMS with the GOVERNOR for this Daffy appointment clearly as political payback.
