Colt D A .41 model 1877 thunderer Revolver. Very low Serial at 649**. . Highly collectible revolver. Has 7 1/2 inch barrel.
When you pull the trigger back the hammer goes back, but the trigger does not go back enough to release the hammer and lock the cylinder.
I took the Cylinder down, and looks like the part that locks the cylinder into place is not coming out far enough to lock cylinder and release hammer. Maybe the its gulked up inside, and not allowing to come out all the way. If I get some time together, Ill look for the skematics of the revolver, and figure out how to completely take it apart and check it over.
