I doubt Finn Aagaard would agree with you. He coveted his brother-in-laws Brno (7x57) for many years before he got it. It left Kenya with him to its new home in Texas.
It is common in Europe and viewed much as we view Winchester, Remington, Ruger and Savage. Good rifles at a moderate price. The Brno built Model 98 Mausers are considered some of the best of the 98s.
As I viewed my new son-in-laws Brno during our December deer hunt I was again reminded that they are good workman like rifles. I would proudly carry it in the company of any of the above brands.
It is built in (surprise,surprise) the city of Brno in Czechoslovakia.
