Has anybody shot a Bowtech Blackhawk/Stalker?

Has anybody here actually shot a Bowtech Blackhawk or Stalker? If so, I'd like to hear what it was like, especially the Blackhawk. This light, handy little bow has impressive specs: 316 fps IBO, 9' brace height, weighs just 2.85 lbs. But, it's TINY, just 28 inches axle to axle! I picked up one in a shop the other day, and it looked like a child's toy, not a state of the art, 316 fps hunting weapon. I'm really, really curious what it's like to shoot one.

Ron, I got a new Stalker last year and I LOVE it. I didn't get a shot at a dear, but in practice it shoots great. It is quiet, smooth, light and accurate. My dad has a Forge Flite bow that has about the same specs that he has had for about 5 years, and loves it, so when I was looking for a new one, I looked at that first, but the Stalker fits my hand a lot better. I looked at bows that were twice the price, and like this one the best. It is funny that you called it a child's toy. When the Forge Bow first came out ( one of the first short, light bows to get that kind of speed), my Dad (who is 75 and can't pull a lot of weight anymore, but still wants to get some speed out of his hunting bow) picked it up and told the guy that designs them, that was there, that it looked like 'a kid's play thing.' The guy talked him into shooting it, and he was sold. When he started shooting faster than me, pulling 48 pounds, I knew that I needed a new bow. The short speed bows are all I looked at. The tall brace height makes them pretty forgiving, and the speed is great. It is very handy going through thick brush and convienient in the tree. I recommend that you take a good hard look at the Bowtech or the Forge Bow. Good luck. *****************************************
