Actually I think that you would be better served (little pun there) with traps and snares. Traps and snares will catch more small game, than you will shoot with a bow. Remember you cannot shoot at night and a trap or snare works 24 hours a day, This is ideal as small game reproduces more rapidly and in greater numbers than large game. Also there is little wastage as the carcass is consumed before spoilage occurs. What little is left over from the meal can be eaten cold the next day. Also taking small game doesn't attract as much attention as taking a large animal.

That was ok in the days when there were only Hey why not go back to the cave man days and of the hunted. Every bow hunter I've met are in their 20's (no clue about things yet). team finds them after they've been lost for 3 I have to disagree about the suffering, and all of your other statements. The deer I shoot with a good sharp broadhead drop just as fast as the ones shot with a 12 gauge slug. As to suffering, I have had them keep grazing and then just drop. They didn't know they were shot. Age, I am 54. One big advantage of bow season is I do not need to duck the city morons who blaze away at any sound and then look to see what they shot. Don Casteel

Offhand, I'd say it might pay in the future to be handy with both bow and gun. Some crossbows were put to pretty good use in 'Nam'. They are not totally silent, but are about as close as one can get. Crossbows and long bows have their place in common sense armament. They will not take the place of a good battle rifle, but in some instances, 'can' compliment it.
