The scope of this petition to repeal rather old legislation seems marginally related to the interests of hunters at best. In fact, I don't think the Animal Welfare Act has anything to do directly with hunting. It was directed towards other areas like USDA inspections of Laboratory animal conditions like use of humane cages (some monkeys were being kept for months in cages one foot square, that sort of thing). I would rather, for example, seen a monkey killed than kept under the conditions intended to be addressed by that act as I understand it. Also, I am unaware of any enforcement actions under the act which impacted hunters. If I am wrong about this, I am willing to learn from the facts.
