What are some good ideas for seed mixtures (Ie brand names/plant type) that would work all year round to feed Whitetails in the Carolina's? Thanks!

Biologic!!!!!! Planted it 2 years ago and it keeps looking better and better! Only problem, the deer love to eat it at night- we have watched them- not evening, not morning but night It has nothing to do with the Biologic, just these damn deer need new watches! I think I am going to go down to dollar general and buy a bunch so these deer know when I am supposed to be there

I advise going to a Southern States ( I frequent the one in Statesville at hwy 64 just off I-40) hardware store and getting them to mix up loose seed to somewhat match one of the high priced mixes. By law any seed sold must have a very detailed description of exactly what seeds are in the bag. Simply read a tag attached to the $25 for two pounds wonder mix and copy down the percentages.
You won't be able to match it exactly but that bag of seeds will cost 1/10 as much and will produce 95% of the results.

A feeder works better because it dispences food when ever you want. This will allow you to train the deer to come when you want to see them.

Deer feed all night. Mornings and evenings you normally catch them going from browse to bed down. The deer I know visit a feeder if it happens to be close to where they are traveling. Put a feeder 40 yards away from a path and all you'll get is a lot of feed on the ground. Site one where deer travel and set it to feed about sun-up and an hour before sundown and you'll have deer interupt their walk long enough to clean it up.
