I am set to go fishing in the Lone Pine, CA area on the weekend after the opening day of Dove Season. I was thinking about bringing my shotgun to do some hunting. Has anyone hunted dove near Lone Pine? Where did you go?

Some years are great up there but it really depends on how much water they got during the spring. This year had a lot of rain so should be pretty good. The other factor that could scatter them is monsoon storms which I think they've had quite a bit of this summer as well. I still think it would be worth your while to bring a shotgun.
I don't have any specific place to go but scout and look for sunflowers. Also ask around, the people up there are fantastic and will probably give you some good tips.
