Handled a Doctor optik 3x9 scope on Saturday in one of those PMC prmotional trucks. First time I've seen one of these scopes in my hands. The glass was very very good, even better than my Leu Vari X III. It was kind of funny, looking through a European reticle. When you crank up the power the reticle actually gets thicker. At 10x on one of the scopes it was so thick it was like looking at a finger ! But pleasantly, as you crank up the power the field of view actually gets bigger than at lower power. American reticles go the opposite. Anybody have one of these, and how do you like it ? Any problem areas I should look for before I sink in over 300 bucks for one ?

I have two and like them a lot. Very high quality for the money you spend. In my opinion, they are much, much better in low light than the Leupolds. I have used these scopes for hunting and range work and have had no problems with them.

Good shooting,

You are mistaken about the field of view. All scopes have a smaller field of view as you increase the power. There is no way for the field of view to increase as you increase the power.

If I want to look at things hiding behind a telegraph pole, I'll change position!
