Not really, but Sika deer can make a noise that sounds like a dog howling, to the usual grunts and roars of a Red deer to a nose that sounds like a donkey;s bray in the reverse order. IE not HEW HAW but HAW HEE . a low grunting roar that rapidly rises in pitch to a high squeal that is very loud. This heard from a range of say, 50 yds in thick scrub can be quite

I'd say no I have never heard a dear give a long bay/honk with a squeak on the in berth. Donkeys are loud when they get uppity. I have heard them in the desert, when close to water they are not hard to find. Donkeys I mean there is always an ass around when you don't want one.
