I shot a coyote this past fall and took it to a taxidermist to get it stuffed. I picked it up a few weeks ago and am real happy with the results. Heres the problem, the things stinks. I cant stand it it reaks like a wet dog. Does anybody have any suggestions on how to stop this thing from smelling so bad. My wife is ready to throw the thing out

Febreeze might work. Or you could try something like Natures Miracle, soak it down and let the enzymes work.

I would take it back to the taxidermist and have him 'fix' the problem. There should be *no* order from a mount of any kind!

Well,, any mounted animal should not smell. It sounds like a taxidermy problem to me. If your taxidermist will not fix your problem then i would put the mount in a large glass aquarium with some kind of forest floor decorations in it, and seal the bottom. A freind of mine had this done and it looks really nice. They even used the spray fake snow and put in some coyote tracks leading up to the mount. It looks super. Good luck,,,

Bring it back to the taxidermist. Tell him you either need a refund, or you're gonna stuff HIM. He's incompetent.
