Need help. My 14 year old daughter is going hunting for the first time for cow elk in the 4th season, unit 20 Colorado. Does anyone have advice to good areas for us to find her a cow in this unit. Also would like to find some big buck mule deer while we are hunting there. Thank you..

As I am sure you already know, most of unit 20 is private land or National forest. the elk have a tendancy to move to the private land quickly when the season starts. There are two pieces of land that the DOW has as trust land you can hunt.

Refresh my memory on where that is. I've hunted 10, and 11 for about 30 years. I'll try to help if I've ever been near there.
