The waters (creek, lake and river) around my home have lot's of ducks but pass shooting at them in fading light and through thick trees is ..well.....a PAIN IN THE A$$ !!

Yes, they can be called. I have had them respond to light mallard calls, and there are Wood Duck calls (whistles, really) that I have had some success with. Grab the Cabela's catalog, find a whistle call with an instructional tape.

Good luck. Most woodies I've taken have been pass shooting. I have had them come to/by mallard decoys, but that still ends up as pass shooting. I've heard of wood duck calls, but I've never seen one work. Wood ducks are mostly resident ducks and know exactly where they are going and don't typically react to calls/decoys the same way mallards do.

Pass shooting wood ducks ranks right up there dove hunting in terms of wing shooting skills. Hitting clay pigeon is easy compared to pass shooting a wood duck in flooded timber.
