To be honest I thought of him, but placed him behind the other three. That may be partially laziness on my part because I am less educated on his contributions. That does not mean that I am unwilling to learn. For right now I will defend myself selection for the following reasons.
- I think there is little doubt that the other three contributed more to what we American hunters and shooters use.
- The other three contributed in both the military and civilian field. His contributions were largely limited to military to the best of my knowledge.
- In at least two cases I think my selections showed far more breadth in the type of arms they designed.
I have no problem placing him fourth. There is NO doubt he and the government he worked for had far reach on military arms.
