The two gun shops in my home town are selling Benelli Nova Pumps for as low as $287. They look and feel like the real deal, but the really low price make me suspicious.
Has anyone else run across these? Any thoughts as to what's going on?

Nova prices have been falling for some reason. I got a Nova in camo last month for $335. Its a great turkey/goose gun.

I can go into a local gun shop up here and pay retail at about $340, so that price is not too low. I have seen them advertised below $300 before.

I've not seen one priced that low but I have seen them in the low $300 range. GREAT gun for that money, I just got my spring turkey with one...

Andy, I'm no shotgunner but from what I've read the Nova seems to have been designed with inexpensive manufacturing in mind, what with all the synthetics used in it and all. About the only cheaper pump is going to be a Mossberg 500 or a Remington 870 Express, a couple of tried and true choices. Give the Nova a try and let the group's shotgunners (and the rest of us) know how it goes. Good hunting! Michael

We are starting to see them in the Boise area for $250. There are a lot of resale's and few new sales. The name's reputation appears to track its Nemesis. H&K's Fabarms are doing the same thing. An original H&K/Benelli Super Black Eagle however, commands $1200. Quality is still the game.

I was looking at buying a nova. nice looking gun at a reasonable price. I spoke to a gunsmith who in turn told me that it is nearly impossible to get parts from Benelli if anything should fail. Has anyone experienced that. I still look at them and would like to get one before goose opens up. I'll have to settle for my mosberg 835 for turkey's this year. Now that gun, for the price, has not failed me in nearly six years of using it. Countless rounds put through it.

Sounds like a 'Smith. You won't have trouble needing or getting parts from Benelli...he, like many others, has his own personal view (smiths are the most opinionated shooters on the planet). Probably didn't like it because with so few moving parts, he'll never have to work on it. I have had my SBE for four years and never (I mean never)had a problem and I purchased a new Montefeltro last year. Smooth as silk.
