Any good hunting games?

I guess the subj. says it all. I'm looking for some good hunting games for the PC. My system isin't a speed demon or anything,(P2 300) but it'll work. Heard some good things about the new Ultimate Hunt Challenge game from EA, but I was wondering if anyone else has played it. I particularly enjoy pheasant hunting. Any reccomendations?

I can certainly recommend 'Ultimate Hunt Challenge' - the graphics are excellent & the challenge levels are very tricky. There is a lot of 'popup' with the graphics, but you quickly learn to overlook this as the game is so enjoyable. It's good value for money too - 3 CDs!

The 'Deer Hunter' series (1,2 &3) are also good, and 'TNN Pro Hunter 2' is quite enjoyable though the first one proved a disappointment - a place to go for good reviews is http://www.virtualoutdoorsman.com/ - it specialises in hunting game news & reviews, and I've always found it very fair, though it isn't updated very often.

I got the Bird Hunter Upland Edition for Christmas by WizardWorks. I have no idea where the game is available at. It is a pretty cool pheasant and quail hunting game. I get a kick out of the dogs

I have two to recommend. 'Sportsman's Paradise', by Wizardworks, is a little lame, but fun, and the only one I know that has pheasant hunting. It also has duck hunting and fishing. Six games in all.

If you're into duck hunting, the best is 'Duck Hunter Pro', by Head Games. It takes some practice, as you have to set decoys and call them in close enough to shoot. Probably the best simulation out there.

For pheasant, the only way to go is with Bird Hunter Upland Edition (BHUE), it's made by the same guys who made the Deer Hunter series. It's about a year old now, but it plays very well. As has been mentioned, the dogs are a riot, just stuborn enough to be believeable.

Ultimate Hunt Challenge (UHC) has some very nice graphics, and it includes everything from big game to fowl, but it plays very slow on my system. After playing BHUE, I found myself disappointed with the dog's behaviour in UHC, they don't do much of anything at all.
