If anyone is looking for a *superb* book on whitetail hunting, I have a recommendation. Be advised that this is not a book on 'how to hunt whitetails.' Rather, it is an in-depth reference that covers all aspects of the pre-rut, post rut, and rut, as well as factors that influence trophy buck behavior in all areas of the country. It seems like every time I look at a book on hunting whitetails, it's geared toward the beginner. This book is anything but that, but it will make you true trophy hunters out there realize how little you really know about whitetail behavior. Some of the things I've learned make me realize just how haphazardly I've been hunting over the years. The book also covers deer nutrition and strategies for food plots *extensively*.
The book is 'Advanced Strategies for Trophy Whitetails', by David Morris. Morris is (or was) the editor of Whitetail magazine. This book is almost 400 pages of solid textual information, but it does contain some amazing photos. I'm almost 2/3 of the way through the book, and I can't put it down. There is so much information in it, I'm going to have to read it again. Enjoy.
