Brett from the GazOutdoors-blog posted unbelievable pictures taken by Julie Krutzfeldt of a deer buck fatally stabbing another buck with its antlers in a mating-season fight.
The “rut” or mating season usually begins in the fall as does go into estrus for a period of a few days and males become more aggressive, competing for mates.
According to Tex Janecek, the homeowner, the two-point muley stabbed the three-point right behind the shoulder, probably puncturing a lung during a mid-November fight in the Emerald Hills east of Billings.
The two point was running around with dark horns for awhile,” Janecek said. “We kept an eye on him to see how aggressive he was.
