Excellent optics ... but you already know that .... I would really like to have Swarovski.

I have Nikon in 10x50 and 8x40. I favor 10X over 8X for distance (over 100 yds) unobstructed viewing. I favor 8X under 100 yds, brushy conditions. That is due to the narrower field of view of the 10X over 8X. Also, 10X can be difficult to hold steady if I am breathing hard (activity or excitement). If I have something to lean back against (like a tree) that helps steady things, but again the closer the target, the harder it is to view if I can't keep it steady... We use the 8X for bird watching...

mind should i get 8.5x42 or the 10x42 .

I faced the same decision and opted for a Pentax 8x42 for the simple reason that I find 10-power binos too difficult to hold steady

Go with the 10 power. You will find them much better at viewing small details from a distance.

Find a local dealer for the glasses and go look at them your self. For hunting I would strongly recommend the 8.5x because they will shake much less (visably) than the 10x and will offer a wider field of view (generally). Swarovski makes excellent products you will be very happy with them.

If you want to save a few bucks and get some glasses that you will not be able to tell the difference with check out Fujinon FMTR-SX 8x30's. I did and saved lots of money. Several hunting partners have switched to the Fuji's and have just been flattened with the quality and clarity especially the flat field of view. Animals leap into view, very little carona effect when looking towards the sun, dim light conditions - well let me just say that one person is alive because of my fuji's - very long story see this link for rest

When you get ready to buy your binos go to Eagle Optics they are the best. I have nothing to do with any of the above mentioned companies other than being a consumer.

I think you will be happier with the 10x
